Kinmen Travel

  Tai Lake is the largest artificial freshwater lake on Kinmen. In 1976 the County Government combined the mountain and water at Tai Lake with the green foliage at Banyan Park to create Zhongzheng Park. To celebrate the 100th birthday of President Chiang Kai-Shek, in 1986 the military and civilian population planted trees in front of Banyan Park to create a memorial park with trees, water, lotus and a winding bridge. The new trees were known as the Zhongzheng Memorial Forest.
